ieumBio has been selected as a consortium partner in a major five-year national R&D program funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of Korea. The program aims to establish a next-generation multi-species aging research and validation platform to accelerate the discovery and development of interventions that promote healthy aging.

The consortium is led by the Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI) and includes the Korea Institute of Toxicology (KIT), Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong, Sungkyunkwan University, Inha University, and ieumBio.

Within the consortium, ieumBio will serve as the lead institution for the killifish platform. Leveraging its proprietary KilliSpan™ technology, the company will develop and expand rapid vertebrate-based longevity and healthspan validation capabilities using the African turquoise killifish (Nothobranchius furzeri), one of the shortest-lived vertebrate models available for aging research.

The program seeks to integrate complementary aging models and biological datasets into a unified translational framework that links aging biology, biomarker discovery, and intervention validation. Through this effort, researchers and industry partners will be able to evaluate candidate longevity interventions more efficiently and with greater translational relevance.

The project also further strengthens ieumBio’s ongoing collaboration with Daewoong Pharmaceutical following the establishment of a Joint Research Agreement focused on longevity research and intervention development.
